Tasting Notes

  • Nose – Citrus, green apple, brown butter.

  • Palate – Orange Cream Soda, vanilla.

  • Finish – Medium length, with oak and cinnamon.

Food Pairing – Crème brûlée

  • I’ll be honest—Katie and I stole this pairing straight from the notes Oakley shared for their Signature Blend. One of the callouts was crème brûlée, and after trying it, we totally get why. This pour pairs perfectly with that creamy vanilla custard and caramelized sugar. If crème brûlée isn’t your thing, a simple scoop of vanilla ice cream works just as well and lets the citrus, creaminess, and warm spice in the whiskey really shine.

Nav and Katie’s Thoughts

  • Oakley came out of the gate with a 20-year bourbon priced at $1,000, and I’ll be honest—I was skeptical at first. But after getting the chance to try it at BBR, I completely understood the hype and fell in love with the pour. So when Oakley released a more approachable Signature Blend made from 7- to 19-year-old bourbons, it was an easy decision to pick one up. This is a fantastic, well-balanced whiskey with dessert-like qualities.
