Tasting Notes
Nose – Caramel, vanilla, fresh bread, and soft notes of strawberries.
Palate – Light cherry, caramel, brown sugar.
Finish – Short, with oak, leather, and black pepper.
Food Pairing – Roast Pork
Roast pork turned out to be a really solid match for this pour and its classic bourbon profile. The savory, lightly caramelized pork brought out the caramel and brown sugar notes, while the natural sweetness of the meat played nicely with that light cherry on the palate. We kept the roast simple with just salt, pepper, and herbs, and that let the oak, leather, and black pepper on the finish show up without overpowering the pour.
Nav and Katie’s Thoughts
This is one of those pours that really leans into a classic bourbon profile, and that’s something we both appreciated. It’s balanced, approachable, and easy to enjoy, with sweetness up front and oak, leather, and pepper on the finish reminding you it’s still a 12-year bourbon at 101 proof. The only real struggle for me is the price point at $150—it’s a solid pour, but that number definitely could give folks a pause.
